Pauvres et plus joli: Priceline 40% de réduction Haul cosmétique
I was very naughty with my finances recently. I'm supposed to manage saving $30k (number given by students who have just returned) before I leave for France. So there is definitely a lot of guilt built in me, but "at least I'll be pretty". Or at least more presentable. It's not that I find myself hideous, my skin just has bumps from my acne scars, and un-even skin colour due to never taking good care of it. But Beauty Blogger or not (cause I am not), I had to share you on the casual girly insights I have.
So with no intention to flaunt my wealth in the form of purchasing items that were severely discounted (and just so you know, I buy my cosmetics ONLY during these sales). I'd also like to give you a first impression from the stuff I tried already or hopefully link you to people that I the reviews off to certify why I bought it.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation 30ml in Light Beige $32RPP to $19.20
I already own the concealers by Bourjois (click here for previous Haul), so I thought it was only fitting to actually own Bourjois' infamous foundation. Also this is my first liquid foundation that I personally own. I think that is a great feat, I was actually really hesitant to get this because I already know my perfect foundation and I think its silly for me to just invest in this drugstore one. But after having the brand hyped up to me from various youtube beauty vloggers. I decided that I probably didn't want to use the MAC MatchMaster in 3.0 (despite not owning it yet) all the time, and this would be a great cheap investment. And it was really between Bourjois or Revlon's Colorstay Oily/Combination Foundation in Golden Beige which Priceline didn't stock in that colour anyway.
Australis Eyeshadow Primer 10ml $12.95RPP to $7.77
I first witnessed this product first hand when I was at a 24/7 Kmart with Catherine. I don't remember why we were there, but I remember she was digging around for this particular item in the stall. I was very naive to make up so she swatched a bit of it on her hand... And picking up some green eye shadow she smeared it across. I saw the difference, how vibrant the colour was where she had the primer, and how dull it was just on her bare skin. I then proceeded to watch her try to remove it... And that was impressive. So I decided to grab this also.
Physican Formula Eyeshadow Palette in Nude $24.95RPP to ~$15
Purely because I destroyed my previous palette for using it as face painting... And I needed a nice nude. Size is adorable, and great for travelling. I haven't really touched the pigments yet, but Its Judy's Time usually gives great compliments for the brand, so I'm hoping its not too far off from what they've consistently produced. Initially, I was after the Model's Prefer Sweet Palette which was sold out within the earliest hours of the day, but I am not too bummed about it so really hoping for results here.
Maybelline's Color Tattoo 24h Metal 4.0g in Barely Branded $11.95RRP to $7.17
I was looking for something less flashy in colour, and have heard countless times from beauty vloggers that Maybelline are brilliant with their eye products (hence why their Falsies' Mascara is my favourite), and I had heard their eyeshadows are heavily pigmented, long wearing and a great drugstore dupe to MAC Paint pots. Who doesn't love dupes'!
Essence Mono Eyeshadow 3.3g $1.42RRP to $0.85
Yes, this is possibly one of the cheapest products I got in this haul. I can always rely on essence for being the cheapest cosmetic brands available. But do not be so quick to judge, though their products are hit or miss they can be pretty impressive. I am in love with their nail polish formula, I'm currently wearing a shade on my nails now. I previously bought green eyeshadow and was impressed with it. It's not as pigmented as maybelline, but still works to get some colour on your lid.
Bourjois Blush 2.5g in Rose de Jaspe $20 to $12
I am constantly told by my mother when I attempt to wear make up I need to blush or bronze, because I look like a flat ghost. Which is true, there was no dimension to my face and I looked incredibly ill. Pretty happy to add this blush to my collection. I have had this blush raved to me by GossMakeUpArtist since it's formula is very similar to Chanel's blush (as they're both owned by the same company).
Australis Ready Set Go Finishing Powder 7.5g $12.95RPP to $7.77
I already own the Fresh & Flawless pressed powder (closest dupe to MAC's studio fix pressed powder), but I didn't like have another visible layer of colour... and for some reason my incredibly oily skin looked incredibly dry, hence caked up with the powder. Hopefully this true translucent powder can set my face but not LOOK like it's there.
Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner in Blackest Black $13.95RPP to $8.37
I think everyone's has swatched this on their arm if you've ever visited Priceline. So I had a try of it on my eyes the other day, I liked the felt tip. Not that I'm a make up artist, I'd love to say it's just as flexible as my felt tips of my Copic Markers (which you should NEVER use on your face). So yes, I'm comparing cosmetics to my art supplies. The colours aren't as intense as I thought it was when I swatched it months ago.
Bourjois Record Liner 48H $19RPP to $11.40
Yes, I already bought one eyeliner, but I wanted to get myself a gel liner because somehow I predicted I was going to be disappointed with Maybelline's one. I know gel definitely gets the intense colour happening, and having a brush would probably give me more precision since I do draw/paint in real life often, not sure if my talents still applies when my face is the canvas though. I'll hopefully comment about this soon. No one really recommended it to me, just another Bourjois purchase really.
Essence Lipliners $1.95RPP to ~$0.52 & $1.05
Restocking because it is true, these are pretty amazing, so super creamy and pigmented. Only problem is that they're so creamy they still slip and slide on your lips if you don't pat it off or wear a lippie on top. But they're still gorgeous. I don't think I would have ever gotten into essence if it wasn't for Dominique Amor's Vlogs.
Australis Color Inject in Grunge Lipstick $12.95RPP to $7.77
I think I was always repulsed by dark lipstick, but after seeing the confidence Shanni had I thought I'd give it a go. Since I am not very into the feminine look anyway. I was actually thinking about getting Lime Crimes Lipstick in Styletto from Princess Polly (a true black lipstick with a long staying power), but thought I'd start it slow and just get a cheap dark plum shade. I've always heard decent things about Australis' Lippies.
Lipcote Lipstick Sealer $15.99RPP to $9.59
I was about to buy this from ASOS, cause it was cheaper until the 40% discount rolled in. So I was pretty happy to grab this too. My fascination for this product started when I was on the hunt for a long lasting lipstick, I am terrible with make up so I wanted to little to no touch ups at all if I was ever to wear a bright colour. I saw a youtube video by Rossini Rana on Youtube reviewing this product. I was pretty impressed, can't wait to try it. And hopefully I can look fab all day long if I ever have the guts to wear colours.
Essence Eyebrow Kit $4.25RPP to $2.55
It's a cute novelty kit, incredibly cheap and surprisingly the colours work for mine. I only use the dark shade, and it comes with stencils. I thought the shapes of the stencils were incredibly unnatural. So hence why my brows are still relatively bushy. The colours are quite chalky, and its very easy to accidentally colour your eyebrows in, so make sure you're brushing through with a clean brush to keep the look natural.
Essence Eyebrow Mascara $3.50RPP to $2.10
I couldn't get the stylist kit without the mascara. I think essence was one of the first to get their one out in the drug stores. Raved by Domm again I bought it, used it, it didn't ruin the texture of my eyebrows at all. They still felt soft and looked untouched however my brows stayed in place.
Cutex Strengthening Nail Polish Remover $2.87
I needed more remover, and since they were 40% off why not, it does what it does. So nothing to remove much here.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips $5.00(SALE) to $3.00
I got these purely for the metallic colour and that it was getting further reduced. I am going to save this for a special occasion, because I know I'm probably going to mess these up.
I'm really hoping someone finds this helpful. I don't think I'll ever have another beauty post until the next sale (if I do participate). But yeah, I also got a bottle of the new Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water because I've seen vlogs and blogs suggesting they are a terrific dupe for the Bioderma version. I don't think it was part of the 40% off but I did get it for around ~$8 or something.
Anywho, maybe we'll see my face more often on this blog with my new found confidence.
